Purcellville - Safe Deposit Vault Building

is a private, nonprofit 501(c) 3 membership organization dedicated to promoting community pride, awareness and the preservation of the historic, architectural, and cultural heritage of Purcellville, Virginia.

Through advocacy initiatives, educational programs, architectural resources, and cultural events, the association's goal is to encourage the community to learn about and save the historic properties, streetscapes, landscapes and rich heritage of its townspeople that make it special.

WALKING TOUR

Discover the gems of our town! Tours start at the train station on 21st Street and weave through side streets. Local historian Rich Gillespie, Director of Education at Mosby Heritage Area Association, will guide Heritage Day fairgoers on May 17, pointing out historically significant valuable structures, landscapes and streetscapes. Self-guided tour brochures are now available at the train station on 21st Street (near Magnolia's), at Purcellville's town hall and online.

ORAL HISTORY FILM

A special presentation The Stories Behind the Story of Purcellville: An Oral History made its debut at Heritage Day this past May. Produced by the PPA with townspeople sharing precious legacies, community traditions and intimate memories of our town over the last century, capturing information about Purcellville's past before it disappears.
